Slow travel in the Izmir souk

While I was photographing a particularly well-presented meat stall, a man grabbed my arm and dragged me into a tea room tucked away in an alley where no tourists dared venture. I took the opportunity to photograph the owner, and that evening, I created a portrait of him on my iPad. The next day, I went to show it to him, and he was delighted. He went around showing it to his customers and offered me tea. I was now part of the gang.

I took the opportunity to draw up portraits of several of his dream characters for any portraitist.
